The film gives us caricatures: a strict disciplinarian Armyman father played by Naseeruddin Shah, who has fought in every war from 1971 to Kargil; his young daughter aspiring to be him and falling to cancer; an overzealous RTI activist; his raging journalist girlfriend who deploys drones for investigative stories (Sagarika Ghatge); a gum-chewing, cynical NIA officer (Arshad Warsi) with a young son who admires him; the corrupt chief minister who doesn’t hide her capriciousness (Divya Dutta)
Irada Movie Review
The film has too many good posits but only weak point of the film is its climax. For a flick that clearly has a lot of research and thought gone into it, the climax comes across as too simplistic and convenient, thus somewhat diluting the angst that one feels during the rest of the film. The first time director Aparnaa Singh impresses with the deftness and confidence with which she handles the subject in hand.
